Short-stay places.
If you are looking for a short-stay place we have a couple of places we can suggest. One of these is a newly built block of tourist apartments perfect for a family stay. Located right in the centre of Girona they can be rented by the day (min. 2 days) week-end, weeks or months. Modern interiors, totally furnished rooms with each apartment having a TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi internet. Email me for the contact details (the manager speaks English).

I must admit that I have never stayed in any of these Girona hotels so these are just my own observations.
Hotel Palau de Bellavista, Pujada Polvorins 1, 17004 tel. 872 080 670
Described as a 5 star hotel it's very modern-looking and a little bit away from the old town, but with some nice views.
Hotel Historic 4*, C/Bellmirall 4a, Girona 17004.
Located in Girona's old town it's conveniently situated for all the museums and cultural sites like the Cathedral. Check with the Hotel when booking about the nearest parking spaces as the laws relating to car access into the old town area have recently changed.
This hotel also has self-catering apartments for rent next door, which I've heard good reports about and it could be a more flexible way of staying in Girona, but minimum stays of 2-3 days I think.
Melia Girona 4*, Carretera Barcelona 112, Girona 17003 tel 972 400 500.
A modern hotel which is some way from the old town and main shopping areas so a 20 minute walk is necessary along the main C/ Barcelona road. It's right next to a large El Corte Ingles department store and there's not a great deal to choose from as far as restaurants and bars near here, although the Corte Ingles store next door has a reasonable restaurant on the top floor.
Hotel Ciutat de Girona 4*, C/ Nord 2, 17001 tel. 972 483 038.
This modern, chic-looking hotel is well situated for visiting Girona, one of the best spots in my opinion for reaching the old town just across the river, and it's proximity to many shops, bars and restaurants especially those in the Placa de Independencia. Also has a nice in-house restaurant called Blanc, situated next door.
Hotel Ultonia 3*, Av. Jaume 1, 22, 17002 tel. 972 203 850.
Well located for sightseeing, so you can just walk to most places from here, it kind of looks a bit faded from the outside and faces a busy main road called Grand via Jaume 1.

Hotel Peninsular 3*, C/ Nou 3, 17001 Girona. Te. 972 203 800
Another reasonable hotel in the modern part of Girona and well located for the old town and the Rambla which is just across the stone bridge (Pont de Piedra), plus near to plenty of shops and places for eating out. About a 10 min. walk from Girona station.
Hotel Carlemany 4*, Pl.Miquel Santala 1, 17002 tel. 972 211 212.
Well positioned 4-star hotel, the area it sits in has many small, classy shops, cafes and it's only a 5 min walk from Girona station and a short walk into the old town. It's got underground parking, and also a strange column-structure outside lit up at night which reminds me of a ships funnel!
Hotel Palau de Girona 4*, Av. de Francia, St. Julia de Ramis, tel.972 173 295. Modern looking, about 2 kms. north from the centre the surrounding area is uninspiring but OK.
Hotel Costabella 3*, Av. Franca 61, 17007 Girona, tel. 972 202 524.
If you stayed here you would have a good15 min walk into the old town, going past the large red-bricked Hospital de Josep Truet and down the Avenguda de Frances a busy main road.
Hotel Nord (Apsis) Girona 2*, C/Major de Sarria, 1-5.
Its location is not its strong point, near to numerous factories and quite a few kilometers outside of Girona in a place called Saria de Ter. It wouldn't be my choice if you wanted an easy stroll into town!
Husa Fornells Park 3*, C/Nacional 11, 17458 Fornells de la Selva, tel. 972 476 125.
This hotel is just outside Girona in a village called Fornells de la Selva so if you stay here you'd need to use taxi's, have a car or use the bus to get into Girona city itself. There's also a train station here which goes into Girona and further on to Barcelona.
Novotel 3*, C/Aeroport 17457 Riudellots de la Selva.
The location is at least 10kms south of Girona so it's handy for the nearby airport.
Hotel Condal 2*, C/Joan Maragall 10, 17002.
Hotel Europa 2*, C/Juli Garreta 21, 17002.
Well positioned, small hotel a bit tired-looking from the outside and near to it's more luxurious neighbour the Hotel Carlemany.
Hotel Bellmirall 1*, C/ Bellmirall 3. A small hotel almost opposite the Hotel Historic.

Hotel Sidorme, modern, budget hotel adjacent to the shopping mall Espai Girones, with free Wi-Fi access. tel 902 023 120.

Rural accommodation.
If you don't fancy staying on the coast and prefer somewhere inland amongst the pretty Catalan countryside there are plenty of places to stay and some of the official tourist websites have links to what's on offer. In Girona I've seen some leaflets advertising rural places in the tourist office in the old town Rambla, or ask at the desk. These below are just a few we've come across.

Most other sites will be on or near the Costa Brava coast.
Sea-side apartments to rent.
There are many existing websites dealing with apartment rentals in the Costa Brava area, and a simple Google search will give you many to look through but I personally know the people that rent these following properties, so if your'e looking for a coastal location please email me and I can get these owners to provide you with more info, pictures and prices.
1. A two-bed flat, 1st floor flat (no lift) in Calella de Palafrugell in a small block with a communal pool.
2. A newly-built two-bed flat, 2nd floor (with lift) in Llanca with balcony and private terrace.
